Chorus - Full Game Walkthrough Longplay Playthrough

Rock Band 3 Harmonies Achievements

Multi-player harmonies can only be done LOCALLY!

Types of Harmony

Unison - This where the lead any vocalists sing the exact same thing, there is almost no training required, if you know how to sing that part, everyone does. Example: "I Love N' Roll" - chorus is obvious

Octave - Similar to Unison, where singers sing same notes and same thing at different octaves. This looks on screen as the two (or maybe three lines) being exactly parallel to each other, easily "cheated" by singing the exact same thing. Example: "Humanoid" - after the first verse

Homophony - This is basically anything in between Unison and Octave. The singers sing the same thing at different pitches and notes but the lines seen on screen are parallel to each other. Example: "Dead End Friends" - the backing singer sings a line similar to the lead, but not the same note. The line is usually parallel

Contrapoint - When singers sing different lines/words/rhythm but keep within harmonizing notes. Example: "Good Vibrations" - #She's giving me the excitations#

When it comes to harmonies, homophonies and contrapuntal harmonies are the most difficult to get right first time. So a lot of the time the harmony or backing parts must be learned. For all songs with a harmony part (or even a singing part for that matter) have a Pitch Guide in practice mode for each separate part in practice mode. It's possible to select only the part you want to learn and recreate how that sounds.

There are a couple of techniques to learn and sing harmony parts like this:

Ignore - This is a simple mental technique. It simply involves blocking out the noise around you and picking out the part you want to sing. This is especially useful when singing with others, but requires a decent mental capacity. It's not as hard as you might think it is, if you have been playing music games for a while you might be able to pick out the different instruments and how they sound, and if you are playing one it's natural to block out the rest. It is pretty much the same with singing harmonies; you are just trying to sing one note of a chord. You might want to turn down the output volumes of your microphones as well.

Pure Harmonizing - Because harmonies are essentially "singing a chord" all it takes is a singer to pick apart the separate notes in it and vocalize them. This requires good ear eye coordination if you want to wing-it this way. Common Homophony harmonies sing 2, 3, 4 for notes (keys or frets) away from the lead, if you can learn what these sound like from just working it out on the spot Harmonies would be a breeze for you.

Key - Most homophony harmonies are the same as the lead singer, but sung in a different key (or base note), so the rest of the harmony is easier once you know which note to start on. You can either learn what the base note sounds like and take reference from that for the song you are trying to sing, or you can hum a set of notes so the arrow is in line with the line you are trying to sing while there is nothing to sing (i.E. Leading on). I'll warn you though, trying to do the latter will almost always result in you unleashing overdrive accidentally.

You only need one microphone if you want to play harmonies or practice them. However if you plan to sing with others you will need one microphone per person. The lead uses a silver arrow and sings the blue line, the first harmony uses a brownish door handle like arrow and sings the brown line and usually has the higher set of notes, and the second harmony uses a silver sword like arrow and sings the yellow line and usually has the lower set of notes.

You do not have to stick to part the microphone is set for, if you want to get an Awesome, at least one line must be full be the end of the phrase, for a Double or Triple Awesome, two or three lines must be full by the end of the phrase. This is all regardless of who ends up singing what. If two or people end up singing the same line it will only count how much of the line was hit, two people won’t fill up the bar faster. If you want to keep the multiplier up at least one Awesome must be hit, again regardless of who gets it.

TOO LONG, I DID NOT READ!: Try to block out all other singers and sounds when singing your part, practice and listen to what your part actually sounds like. It's nothing more difficult than singing along with others who are singing something else.

Triple Awesome

Get a Triple Awesome while playing with Vocal Harmonies.

Triple Awesome

General Harmony Goals - Triple Awesome DLC

You only need ONE triple awesome, regardless of the song you use or what difficulty you are on! You just need to pick a song that has three vocal parts.

While three people with three microphones are the easiest way, this can be done with two microphones and one person. There are some songs with octave or unison parts which make the whole thing easier, after all you only need to hit one and it can be done on Easy.

Recommended songs: "Get Free", "The Look", "Humanoid"

General Harmony Goals - Is This Just Fantasy?

You will need three microphones with three people. Or you can cheat using these videos:

I'll happily assume you are not cheating, so let's go with that.

You will need to hit all 32 possible triple harmonies in a row in one single run of the song and get all Triple Awesomes on them (duh!). A few are double harmonies and are just solo parts, these can be ignored, but if you don't have no fail mode on you will fail due to this at some point.

This song is already hard enough to sing and with harmonies that gets even tougher. Learn the song and the parts on Expert in practice and when you are actually doing it, do it on Medium also, it just makes everything easier and less annoying.

You can use the videos to practice or to listen to what the parts sound like. For the first video, the left speaker plays Harmony 1's pitch guide, and the right speaker plays Harmony 2's pitch guide. The second video plays the pitch guide for the lead. Listen to what the part sounds like and ingrain it into your head, then try ignoring others around you. The video sometimes tunes down a couple of words down an octave especially the "for ME!" before the Heavy Part.

It is very difficult and you probably won’t get anywhere near what you need on the first couple of tries, it requires utter concentration, skill and a little bit of luck. You need to learn and sing it properly and try not to take shortcuts, make sure to breathe properly and don't worry about what everyone else is doing, as long as you all focus on your own parts you'll be fine.

With the beginning of Chapter Six, most of the differences between a regular playthrough and an Encore playthrough will show.

Head for the castle and enter Prince Crescendo's Room and then Princess Serenade's Room (they are the second-to-last rooms on the East and West side of the Second Floor Hallway respectively; the doors of their rooms are blue); exit the latter last, and you'll be given Warp Room Key. Exit the castle, and in the Castle Gate area go immediately West to enter the Warp Room: from here, follow the in-game instructions to reach To Coda Ruins.

Below will follow a bunch of events which can only take place on Encore (or are useless in a non-Encore run): skip to the "To Coda Ruins" section if it's not your case (yet).

Go to the Audience Chamber and exit it Northeast to be in the Side Garden area. In here, go Southwest (referring to where you're coming as "Northwest") to find a performance partner.

Exit the castle and go to the Hotel Ensemble. In the same room where you listened to the granny's poem on Chapter Four, speak with the granddaughter to perform a musical session.

Exit the Hotel and go South; enter the house Southeast of the Main Street area: on Encore, a scene will trigger in this Residence, and you'll be told to head for Sharp Mountains for an optional quest.

Sharp Mountains Optional Quest (Encore only)

After the scene in the Residence in Baroque, reach the Second Point area of Sharp Mountains; as you enter, take the path going right; you will hear some barking, and shortly after that you will find the man of this quest. This will trigger a fight against Tracer, who has 324,470 HP; considering that you are on Encore, possibly with Party Level 6, it will be a cakewalk. You will obtain Saint's Mirror and Artemis's Bow immediately after the fight, and then also Score Piece # 26/32.

Score Piece # 26/32 (Encore only) – Complete the side quest in the Residence of Baroque (rescue the man on Sharp Mountains – Second Point).

This is Score Piece "26" and not "22" because you should be reading about it on your second playthrough only, and you should get score pieces 22, 23, 24 and 25 before this one. You can play it with Lonesome Loco, the kid due East of the exit to Sharp Mountain (in Castle Gate area of Baroque) for a Topaz Bracelet (prevents Slow).

You can now perform a musical session with Gentle Harp (the woman inside the Residence in Baroque).

Go to the Warp Room and select Forte City. Once you arrive, go South to Hanon Hills and check on the right side to find a grandma standing by a chest you should have already opened. Speak with her twice for a musical session.

Chord Quest – Part III/III (Encore only) – Continue going South in Hanon Hills until you reach Fort Fermata – Central Road – North; then follow this path to reach the Locked Room, now available thanks to the Fort Fermata Key. Speak with the character here to complete the quest thanks to the Heart Pendant received as reward for the last boss fight. You will obtain Pot for your effort, and the following achievement:

Soul Released

The soul of Chord, the first mineral powder test subject, has been released.

Soul Released

The Pot starts a second trading sequence which is more important than the previous one: this time you will end up with good stuff and an achievement. We'll have to get there step by step though.

Right now, return to Central Road – North in Fort Fermata, and have a nice walk back to Forte City.When you're there, use the warp device just on the left as you entered to return to Baroque City – Warp Room.

At this point we will mop up the rest of Score Pieces and EZI Items while trying to follow this second trading sequence. First of all, warp to Tenuto Village.

=======================

Tenuto Village (Encore)

Here you can assist with an optional dialogue with Polka's mother, if you enter her house. Talking of business, there are two characters you can perform with: a guy sitting on a rock on the left as you enter the village (Easygoing Flat), and a cat strolling on the narrow path on the left of Polka's house (Solitary String).

EZI Item # 14/21 – Elite EZI (Encore only)Perform a session and obtain an A Rank (Score Piece 21) with Solitary String.

Enter the house on the East side of the village and speak with the woman here to trade your Pot.

Encore Trade # 01/07 – Hand over Pot to get Goat Stew.

Now take a moment to start working on a quest which will take place soon: since you'll need to deliver 20 photos catching 20 different monsters, it's a good idea to start now, with weak enemies. Therefore, put Beat in your party, equip Vivid Shot and Night Shot, and then exit Tenuto from South; fight against a Very Very Empty, and take a shot of him before defeating him (Photo # 01/20).

Afterward, return to the village and this time exit through the Northeastern exit.

=======================

Heaven's Mirror Forest (Encore)

Walk all the way North to the area where you fought the Forest Boar boss, and head further North from here; you will reach the Heaven's Mirror Field area. On your way, take a picture of L'Opera Knight enemy (Photo # 02/20).

Score Piece # 28/32 (Encore only) – Interact with the squirrel standing on a rock just on the left as you enter the Heaven's Mirror Field area.

Return to Ritardando (warp back to Baroque and use the warp there to reach Ritardando).

=======================

Ritardando (Encore)

Enter Mandolin's Church and check the third pew from Northwest to find a character to perform with.

Methodical Gospel (Encore only)A Rank (Score Piece 28): EZI Pendant.

EZI Item # 15/21 – EZI Pendant (Encore only)Perform a session and obtain an A Rank (Score Piece 28) with Methodical Gospel.

While you're here you could also go all the way to the far end of the Catacombs to find Ugly Clothes; it's obviously not worth it though.

On the contrary, enter the Sewers just for a moment and take a picture of the Florite Mouse enemy (Photo # 03/20). Then return to Baroque, and warp to Forte City.

=======================

Forte City (Encore)

Score Piece # 29/32 (Encore only) - Go East and check on the right before entering the Inn of Forte City to find a small gate: examine it to find the Score Piece.

Score Piece # 30/32 (Encore only) – Enter the Tavern (on the West side of Forte City) and go upstairs; check the bottom-right-cornered table to find the Score Piece.

Score Piece # 31/32 (Encore only) – Head North of Forte City to enter the Castle Gate area; here speak with the sick man found on the left to trigger a short scene. Speak with him again afterward to receive the Score Piece. You must have listened to the granny's poem in Chapter Four to receive this Score Piece.

With these three Score Pieces you're only missing one, which will be available only on Chapter Seven (and unfortunately it will require some backtracking), so it's all about them for now.

In the Castle Gate area there's also a guard you can perform with (it's the right one of the two standing before the gate).

Petty Oud (Encore only)B Rank (Score Piece 12/31): Bat Umbrella.A Rank (Score Piece 32): Diamond Bracelet.

You can now return to Baroque and warp to Agogo Village from there.

While you're in the area, pay a visit to Wah Lava Cave (exit further West from the Cave Front area of Agogo Village) and engage one of the fishes you'll find soon as you walk North; take a picture of them either in their "fish" form (Coelacanth) or in their "dragon" form (Haken Büchse) to add them to your collection (Photo # 04/20); a different form of the same monster, unfortunately, counts only as one.

Then return to Agogo Village again and this time exit North to Chorus Plains.

=======================

Chorus Plains and Hanon Hills (Encore)

Here you don't want to miss the chance of getting the photos of Angel Goat and Earth Shaker (Photo # 06/20).

Your main goal however is reaching the South Lake area (go North from the entrance). As you proceed in this area, you will find the Goatherd which you should remember for a trade; he's near a bunch of goats anyway, so you'll find him easily.

Encore Trade # 02/07 – Hand over Goat Stew to get Coupon.

Keep heading North in this same area and approach the lake here; you will find a performing character.

With this being done, you want to continue the trade in Hanon Hills. As you surely remember though, Cabasa Bridge collapsed: you have to return to Agogo Village, warp to Forte City, go all the way South from Forte City. Just before reaching Fort Fermata again, you will find the Merchant (the one you helped early in the game; he was attacked by Earth Shakers).

On your way, take a picture of the Eternal Green (goats) too (Photo # 07/20).

Encore Trade # 03/07 – Hand over Coupon (to the merchant in Hanon Hills - Midway) to get Honey.

Afterward, once again, go across Hanon Hills to reach Forte City and use its warp device to Baroque.

=======================

Baroque – Go to the Castle and then upstairs to the second floor; enter the Western-most room here (the Laboratory) and have a chat with the Researcher. You will hand over Honey, and he'll ask you to get the Agogo Droppings. For the latter, now warp to Agogo Village.

Agogo Village – Speak to the kid with the camera in the middle of the village ("Agogo Boy"): he is wiling to trade 20 photos for the Agogo Droppings you need. Since you can carry max 12 photos at the same time, you'll need at least two trips; you should have 7x by now, so speak with him again and give him those.

If you have photos of the same monster (or his different form for light/dark transformations), he won't take them; either discard or sell them, if you have any. We'll get few more on our way to the last things to do, but you'll have to grind the rest; right now, warp to Cantabile Inn (via Baroque, as usual).

=======================

Cantabile Inn (Encore)

Enter the Inn itself and enter the room where you used to be (the left one): here you will find a couple of performance partners.

Exit the Inn and go South to Adagio Swamp.

Adagio Swamp – Just take a picture of the enemy of the area, in either of his two forms (Photo # 08/20).

Now go North of Cantabile Inn, to Woodblock Groves.

=======================

Woodblock Groves (Encore)

Here you can take a picture of Mushroom Up and Bloody Onion (or its smaller form) for your collection (Photos # 09 and 10/20). Walk to the South Center area: you will have to pass in a narrow path with a Bloody Onion on your way to continue North. I suggest going to the next area and save the game before triggering the next fight; when you're ready, examine something before that Bloody Onion blocking the way: you'll be asked to enter a code. The code is 3214; afterward, the final fight against Captain Dolce will trigger.

Optional Boss Fight - Captain Dolce, 1stLieutenant (red bandana) and 2ndLieutenant (blonde hair)Captain Dolce has 373,130 HP, 1st Lieutenant has 48,670 HP and 2nd Lieutenant has 73,010 HP.

You will obtain Wilderness (weapon for Salsa; ATK +90) after the fight. The Seven Stars accessory (Exp +20%) will follow, and then an achievement will complete this quest:

Pirates' Treasure

The mystery behind the the pirates' treasure has been solved and the treasure has been acquired.

Pirates' Treasure

Now either continue going North of this woods until you reach the last area, or warp to Andante and exit South of it. Either way, you will be in the Waterfall area; go Northeast from here to enter Lake Reverb.

=======================

Lake Reverb (Encore)

Follow the path here to enter Andantino's Hideout; here you will find a chest with Pyro Blade (weapon for Jazz; ATK +110 and Burst effect; good one) inside.

=======================

Encore Trades

When you have finally delivered the 20 photos of different enemies to Agogo Boy in Agogo Village, thus getting the Agogo Droppings, return to the Researcher in the Laboratory of Baroque Castle.

Encore Trade # 04/07 – Hand over Agogo Droppings to be told to get some rest. Go to Hotel Ensemble in Baroque and stay for a night, then return to the Researcher. Now he will give you Odd Candy.

Encore Trade # 05/07 – Once again, head for Forte City; then to Hanon Hills, and to its Midway area. Hand over Odd Candy to the Merchant to get Glass Ball.

Back to Baroque City – Main Street, speak with the Priest here (Southwest, just on the left side before you exit South; he spoke with you when you first went to Aria Temple) for a short dialogue: you'll be told to go to the altar in Aria Temple. In order to reach that area, which is the Gallery of Light (where you fought the boss), use the rope in the middle of the central part of the Gallery of Air; then go North of where you will end up (in the Gallery of Heaven area) to go upstairs; then follow the Corridor.

Encore Trade # 06/07 – Hand over Glass Ball to get Orb.

This is all you can do before proceeding with the story. Therefore, return to Baroque and use the right warp to reach To Coda Ruins.

=======================

To Coda Ruins

Map of the areaNote: the black arrows are spots from where you can jump down.

Enemies: Dark Antiques (16,000 HP; weak against Light; 4,790 Exp), Strong Glory (37,120 HP; weak against Light; 5,250 Exp), Ancient Fish (31,990 HP; weak against Darkness; 5,000 Exp), OOPARTS (17,850 HP; 4,440 Exp).Item checklist: Matchlock Axe (weapon for Beat; ATK +77), Lunar Eclipse (weapon for Salsa; ATK +25, Light +65, Shining Body), Solar Eclipse (weapon for March; ATK +25, Dark +65, Darkness Body), Claimh Solais (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +86), Apollo's Staff (weapon for Frederic; ATK +78, MAG +7, Shining Body).

Most of the warp devices work as one-way-only (they are represented by a single arrow); some work in both directions (they are represented by a couple of arrows in opposite directions); some will take you from a point "A" (where you get on the warp device) to point "B" (where you land), but getting on the warp device from "B" will take you to a third different point "C" (they are represented by a couple of lines instead of the usual single line, and each of the lines has one or more arrows pointing the direction). This should be intuitive anyway.

There is nothing out of the ordinary to point out about this place; before taking a warp device to the next destination, you can always find a pillar which you can read. They add very little (if any at all) information, so it's not a loss if you skip them. Try to avoid the warp devices marked with black "X"s, as they're going to lead you nowhere important (the one in Jealousy Island takes you to the one in Resentment Island; the previous two will only take you to a different spot of the same area).

You will eventually reach Cello Tree.

=======================

Cello Tree and Cowbell Heights

Go forward for a cutscene. Then examine the small wooden structure North of the red&white umbrella to find Saint's Mirror.

Score Piece # 22/32 – Go North towards the big tree, and check on the right side of the path leading to it.

Go West to enter Cowbell Heights, then proceed forward from here to reach the next destination.

Save the game when you reach the Near the Summit area, then go ahead for a rather tough boss fight against two opponents (one is only a weak minion anyway). Polka will not take part in the fight, so please replace her if she's in your party.

Boss Fight # 14 - ??? (name omitted for spoiler reasons)The main opponent has 589,590 HP; the "animal" minion has 77,230 HP.The minion will go down very easily; the main opponent is very powerful and has a lot of health, so you'll have to try to be conservative with your items because it's a bit of an endurance trial. A slow and somehow effective strategy could also be relying on Spirits Pathways for your healing, and focus on dealing damage mainly with Viola's arrows from as far as you can while building up Echoes with Salsa to increase the effect of Spirits Pathways; this depends on the level of your Frederic of course, but it's probably the only fight of the game where (if you're a bit under-levelled) a more defensive strategy like this is more advisable than a full-assault. Anyway, at this point of the game you know how to fight.

You will obtain Vanquisher (weapon for Jazz; ATK +139 but Passive effect), Jokulsnaut (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +110) and Demonic Mask (Prevents enemy's critical hit) after the fight.

Chapter six is complete and Party Level 5 is unlocked; you will unlock these achievements as soon as you take control of your characters again:

In this new area, walk forward until you find and speak with a blue flame ("Elder") who will tell you to go to the Xylophone Tower (which is available only after this conversation). In this first area of the Dunes you can also open a chest for a Spade Clover in the Northeast region, but we'll go back here soon anyway.

When you've got the permission to do so, enter the Xylophone Tower.

Enemies: Corsesca (68,310 HP; weak against Light; 8,500 Exp), Golden Temple (38,050 HP; weak against Darkness; 7,950 Exp), Black Gold (48,940 HP; 7,280 Exp), Phacops (42,450 HP; 7,000 Exp).Item checklist: Mist Cape, Ruthless (weapon for Salsa; ATK +109), Alice's Watch (Increases Tactical Time), Nidhogg's Fang (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +128 and chance of poisoning the enemy on hit).

This place is a repetition of three areas: a "trial" area, a "spiral" (stairs) area, and a "landing" area. In the trial areas you'll have to play a few notes of Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2. You'll be shown the notes to play, so it's only a matter of memory/reading them here. You'll be asked to play 4 notes first; then up to 8; then up to 13. The order of the notes you have to play is shown in the map.On the "spiral" areas there are only enemies.On the "landing" areas there are items and enemies.

As you reach the top area, you will clearly see a couple of enemies ready to trigger a boss fight; if you rely on Viola for healing, give her the Brilliant Brooch since the arena is very dark.

Boss Fight # 15 – Ogre King and Wicked ShrubOgre King has 571,110 HP (it's the big one); Wicked Shrub has 590,770 (it's the jumping monster).Focus on Ogre King first, since the other foe usually moves a lot when he attacks, and this causes you to waste precious time reaching him again every time (which is terrible if there's also a second enemy around; not so terrible if it's just you and him).

You will obtain Tyr's Left Arm (weapon for Falsetto; ATK +123 and Action Gauge increases when attack hits), Eye of Horus (ATK +7) and Thiassi's Bone (weapon for Jazz; ATK +195 and Burst effect) after the fight.

Encore Trade # 07/07 – On Encore difficulty you'll be still at the top of the tower after the fight; go Northwest to find the spot where you can place the Orb; this will open the nearby door. Enter the secret room through that door and you will obtain Lion's Chime; you'll be teleported outside of the tower automatically afterward. It's a great accessory for anyone with high attack (for instance, it's devastating if given to Viola along with the Crimson Brooch too).

In addition to the accessory, you will also unlock an achievement:

Xylophone's Treasure

The hidden treasure in the secret room on the top floor of Xylophone Tower has been acquired.

You can now enter the Noise Dunes properly.

As noted on the map, you have to exit four times West (consecutively) or four times East (consecutively) the main area ("Noise Dunes") to reach the Oasis area. In this area you can only pick up a chest at first; the gate you can see there leads to the Mysterious Unison, but you need the Hero's Crest (story-related item which you will keep on your Encore playthrough, allowing you to access the dungeon a bit earlier than on your normal playthrough) to enter.

Right now, you basically only have to continue forward to proceed.

In the Tower Entrance area, speak with the idol head just on the left before the door leading to the tower itself (Ichiro); he'll say something about Goro, and now all the other idol heads will speak with you too. At this point, go all the way South to find a lonely small idol head on the East side; speak with him to perform a musical session.

As a side note, in Mt. Rock's Summit area, the exit to backtrack is located South (the warp to Elegy of the Moon is East), not North (where you're told not to go). It'll take you about 10 minutes for the whole trail (from the Tower Entrance area to Baroque).

Double Reed Tower

Map of the area (lower zoom here, if you prefer)Note: the Base area will be complete only after defeating the four bosses.

Enemies: Steam Horn (60,090 HP; 14,500 Exp), Abyss (48,010 HP; weak against Darkness; 17,250 Exp), Black Onyx (132,040 HP; weak against Light; 21,500 Exp), Garlic Dad (58,940 HP; 15,800 Exp).Item checklist: Cerberus Canine (weapon for Beat; ATK +138 and increases speed by 10%), Spade Clover, Storm Shroud, Teardrop (weapon for Polka; ATK +130), Nodus (weapon for Salsa; ATK +55, Light +100), Daybreak Cloak, Lech Blade (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +149).

There are four bosses to defeat to continue; after defeating each of them, your party will be fully healed. I'll just report the HP and rewards coming from the fights, since that's all you'll want to know at this point.

Boss Fight # 16 - Herculean Boar – 911,310 HP; Lech Armor.

Boss Fight # 17 - Hidden One – 742,910 HP; Tyr's Right Arm (weapon for Falsetto; ATK +140).

Boss Fight # 18 - Unrest and 2x Fire Antique – 764,250 HP; Tyrant Slayer (weapon for Jazz; ATK +162).

Boss Fight # 19 - White Jewel – 902,280 HP; Alvis Hoop (weapon for March; ATK +55, Dark +100).

After defeating them all, you want to head to the Base area and there you will fight another boss.

Boss Fight # 20 - Ruined Body - 1,178,780 HP; Velmungdd's Lust (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +160) and Hero's Crest.

With the Hero's Crest you can now access the optional dungeon Mysterious Unison. It will take about 2-3 hours to clear the Mysterious Unison, and it's worth it. If you're too curious about the ending to wait, then save the game on two separate slots and proceed forward to tackle the final boss. There's a character who won't take part in this fight, but I'd rather not say who to add some suspense – you'll see why.

The final boss has 1,493,120 HP.

After defeating the final boss, the game will ask you to save your data: loading that data can only let you start an Encore playthrough or view the final scenes of the game. For this reason, it's a "dead" file as far as further gaming is concerned, and that's why you want to save the game on a different slot.

You will unlock these two achievements:

Heroic

Chapter 7 Heroic has been completed.

There's still the Mysterious Unison to clear though, and it's not far from the Double Reed Tower after all: exit to the Dunes of Noise, go to the main area, go East four times in a row (or West four times in a row) and you'll be in the Oasis; now examine the gate to open it and unlock an achievement:

And now the inside.

=======================

Mysterious Unison

Generalities

This big dungeon is made up of 13 floors; most of them are wide areas, but the layout is simple enough. Do your best not to get lost, because it's not a nice place in which to wander. Including Viola in your party should be more than enough to be able to keep up with healing very easily (especially because you will unlock Party Level 6 very soon), so that's a suggested character.

Other than that, there will be a "guest" who joins while you're in this dungeon; if you leave the area, the guest won't follow you outside. There's a big gap between the level of the guest and yours, so you probably won't want to deploy that character.

Other than this, in the areas there are many good items to collect. Among all the items, the Score Pieces found here are a must-get kind (of course). You will also find Soul Shards: without them, you can't complete the Mysterious Unison (the final boss at the bottom floor won't spawn), so please make sure you get them all on your way through it.

It takes a bit less than 3 hours to clear the Mysterious Unison while fighting some of the enemies; the first of the three bosses found here isn't very poewrful, so I suggest you to refrain from fighting hordes of random enemies as you go down, because you won't need that until the time of the second boss comes (Basement Level 11). When you reach the deepest levels, there will be a monster (Astral Lied) which drops 1.5M Gold; fight them to get the max amount of money (99,999,999G) which will be required to purchase one of the Soul Shards (the "store" will be found on the 6th level), so you can also level up meanwhile, and get prepared for the last two bosses.

To give you an idea of the suggested levels, you should enter at level 50 and end up at level 70; most of the level ups will come from farming gold from the Astral Lied anyway.

There's a glitch which triggers for some people: warping to the earlier floors may cause the console to freeze. For this reason, please make sure that you collect everything on your first run through a level: should the console freeze on your backtrack, at least this won't prevent you from collecting a Score Piece or a Soul Shard.

You can return to surface by using the "In" warp device (the one where you land when you start a Level), and from the surface you can select almost any level (except a couple of them which are paired with other levels; you'll understand this as you reach them). It's usually a good idea to return to surface as soon as you clear a level, so you can save the game and then return just where you left to continue.

Guide

Enemies: Mercurius (240,600 HP; 49,999 Exp; it's the dragon), Roaming Pirates (161,180 HP; 47,333 Exp), Perfect Melon (160,340 HP; 45,000 Exp), Ryuuguu (253,320 HP; 46,100 Exp; it's the scorpion), Astral Lied (165,620 HP; 48,950 Exp; it's the giant monster).Item checklist: Titania's Bow (weapon for Viola; ATK +178); Iron Gloves (weapon for Falsetto; ATK +160 but Slow effect), Pervius (weapon for March; ATK +166 and increases critical hit rate); Atena's Shield, Nagul Fang (weapon for Beat; ATK +170 and increases speed by 10%); Nil Coat, Azure Umbrella (weapon for Polka; ATK +173, MAG +5), Dragon Armor, Seven-Branched (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +182); Freudhersch (weapon for Frederic; ATK +180), Peacock Dress, Alfheim (weapon for Salsa; ATK +70, Light +130), Nemesis Sword (weapon for [Special Guest]; ATK +180), Skofnung (weapon for Jazz; ATK +195 and Burst effect), Niflehim (weapon for March; ATK +70, Dark +130), Cupid's Head (accessory for Viola; ATK +30), Best Lot (accessory for Beat; ATK +20); Achille's Armor, Lord's Reign (weapon for Falsetto; ATK +179 and increases combos when attacking), Solomon's Ring (ATK +10), Retaliator (weapon for [Special Guest]; ATK +192 and increases combos when attacking); Sheol Sword (weapon for Allegretto; ATK +200 and recovers HP by 10% at the beginning of turn), Bezwell's Sword (weapon for Jazz; ATK +220 and absorbs 20% of inflicted damage as HP).

The six Harmony Chains of Party Level 6 will take care of those huge numbers before "HP", don't worry. Party Level 6 will be unlocked just after a simple fight on the entrance of the Mysterious Unison:

Basement Level 1There's a Soul Shard here, other than another item.

Basement Level 2On this floor you will find a boss, Deep Lurker; he has 912,840 HP. You will also get another Soul Shard after the fight.

Basement Level 3 and 4These floors are connected with each other by means of warp devices. The warp devices work in both directions. After landing on 1B, walk around to find and get a Score Piece. Then make sure you also get a Soul Shard before taking the warp 3A. There's no puzzle behind it anyway, just move towards the exit and get these two items on the way.

Score Piece # 23/32 - Found in a chest of "Mysterious Unison: Basement Level 3".

Basement Level 5Simple layout, no "special" items.

Basement Level 6Here's where you find a red-flame spirit, "Mute", which has (supposedly) opened the chest in an area of this map, which used to contain a Soul Shard. Now this spirit will charge you for 99,999,999G to get that Soul Shard; don't worry about that, because as already stated in the introduction, you will find Gold-rewarding enemies on the lower floors, and it won't take all that long before you have all those money. He can also let you get a "Shower" (rest) for 10,000G, but anyway.

Basement Level 7Save the game before adventuring into this simple, but potentially confusing, area; should you get lost, reloading is probably the best thing to do. You should try to imagine this floor as a sort of "sphere" (think of the Earth), where reaching the West-most edge will bring you to the opposite side (think of going all the way West to America and then further West; eventually you end up in Europe which was East of America, although you were heading West). That's also true for North and South. Not rocket science, really. The quickest way out is: from where you start, go forward; then right; then right again, then South (towards "4"); then right; then North. Should you just get lost and not have a recent save to reload without losing any relevant progress, walk in the same direction and you will be able to locate your position.There are no items on this floor.

Basement Level 8 and 9This is another couple of floors linked by means of warp devices; it's more elaborate than the previous couple (levels 3 and 4), but it's not hard. As noted on the map, simply follow the numbers and you will find everything. In particular, after you land on 7B, make sure you go and pick up a Score Piece; then, after you land on 10B, make sure you go and pick up a Soul Shard. After this last item, you should have mopped up the rest of the floors too: ride 10B back to 10A and exit through the next warp device.

Score Piece # 24/32 - Found in a chest of "Mysterious Unison: Basement Level 9".

Basement Level 10There are no "special" items here.

Basement Level 11On Basement Level 11 you will find another boss, which has 3,220,090 HP. This second boss is powerful, so it might be a better idea to go back and save the game after mopping up the chests of the level, before tackling the boss. You will also get another Soul Shard after the fight, and unlock an achievement:

Basement Level 12Make sure you get the Score Piece here before moving on.

Score Piece # 25/32 - Found in a chest of "Mysterious Unison: Basement Level 12".

Final FloorFinally, if you have all the Soul Shards of the previous floors, on "Final Floor" you will find and fight against Annihilator, a boss with 4,958,710 HP; it's a long fight, but probably even easier than the one on Basement Level 11. I've not added a map since there's just the area where you land and then where you fight the boss.

You will complete the Mysterious Unison by defeating this last optional boss, and you will unlock this achievement:

You also want to finish the game after completing the Mysterious Unison, since doing so will allow you to unlock another achievement:

Grand Finale

Final Chapter Heaven's Mirror has been completed with all characters remaining.

Grand Finale

This should be the last one of your regular playthrough, and you can now create a proper Game Clear Data, which will allow you to start the Encore playthrough (by loading that very data) with everything you wanted to carry: Party Level 6 and Score Pieces of the Mysterious Unison, other than the relief of not having to deal with this dungeon on Encore since you've already unlocked the above achievements.

See you again at the top of the previous page if it's your first playthrough. If it's your second, congratulations on your 1,000G and thanks for reading!

GTA Trilogy Has Removed Some Cheats For 'Technical Reasons'

As Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy launches, Rockstar has confirmed that it has removed some cheats from the game due to technical reasons, although it's not yet clear which ones.

During the lead-up to the launch of GTA: The Trilogy, social media has been abuzz with fans discussing and sharing their favourite cheat codes from across the original games. However, for its remasters, Rockstar told USA Today that some of those cheats haven't been brought over to the latest release due to technical reasons.

“We actually had to remove a couple for technical reasons, certain things that didn’t play well in the Unreal base,” producer Rich Rosado explained. “But that’s actually where I’ll leave it. There’s some fun with discovery. I’m not saying plus or minus, but I’d rather not just go right on the nose before the release of the game and go straight to the end credits.”

Despite confirming that some of the game's cheats had been removed between iterations, Rosaldo alludes to the possibility that the game may include a number of new cheats for players to discover. While cheats certainly add a new layer of chaos and fun to the mix across the GTA series, it should be noted that (according to GameRant) using them may lock players out of a number of trophies and achievements.

GTA Trilogy - Nintendo Switch Screenshots

In other related news, Rockstar recently released its full song list for the collection of remasters. Across the three games, the publisher has confirmed that each of the original 29 radio stations as seen in the original versions will be returning. While a number of tracks such as Michael Jackson's Billie Jean won't be coming back due to expired licensing deals, fans will be able to enjoy a range of nostalgic hits through high-quality audio (16bit 44hrz) and in 5.1 Surround Sound.
